Sunan an-Nabi is a profound collection of narrations that opens a window into the daily conduct, habits, manners, worship, and inner discipline of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s). Compiled by the great scholar Allamah Sayyid Muhammad Husayn Tabatabai, this work gathers reports from Islamic sources that describe not only what the Prophet (s) taught, but how he lived.
This is not a biography in the usual sense. It does not simply retell the events of the Prophet’s life. Rather, it focuses on his sunnah and adab, the recurring practices, refined manners, and beautiful actions that shaped every part of his life. The book shows how the Prophet (s) interacted with people, cared for his family, maintained cleanliness, travelled, ate, dressed, slept, worshipped, remembered Allah, recited the Qur’an, gave charity, and turned to Allah in du’a.
What makes this book especially valuable is that it presents the Prophetic model as a complete way of living. The reader sees that the Sunnah is not limited to acts of worship alone. It extends into speech, silence, relationships, food, clothing, rest, social behaviour, and personal discipline. Every action of the Prophet (s) carried purpose, beauty, humility, and awareness of Allah.
Allamah Tabatabai’s compilation helps the reader move beyond abstract admiration of the Prophet (s) towards practical imitation. It invites us to ask: how did the Messenger of Allah (s) carry himself? How did he treat others? How did he worship? How did he bring spirituality into ordinary moments?
Ideal for students, families, seekers of akhlaq, and anyone wishing to revive the Prophetic way in daily life, Sunan an-Nabi is a book to be read slowly, reflected upon, and lived with. It is a guide to transforming ordinary habits into meaningful acts of worship, and to building a life shaped by the noble example of the Messenger of Allah (s).
A valuable book for anyone seeking to understand and practise the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (s) in a deeper, more conscious, and practical way.
